Espionage, drama and the occasional poisoning...and all that just before breakfast!

Dylan F1. I don't think people are atrunally altruistic, but it is definitely possible. Since an individual can view the world only from their own perspective and only live their own life, it is clearly justified that our natural tendencies are to do actions that benefit ourselves. If we were 100% altruistic, our self worth and self value would be reduced to zero. However, using the example of giving to a charity, it is still an altruist action as you are giving up money (something that is hard earned, and has the potential ability to attain anything in large amounts) for a temporary moment of pride, definitely is a somewhat selfless action to benefit others. 2. If someone does something positive for another person, the reason should technically not matter as they are committing a good act. However, actions can seem positive temporarily, but the motive behind it could be to benefit yourself in the long run. An example is loaning someone money, but then making them pay back more than the initial amount in the future. It should be only completely positive acts should not matter of the motive, as some can be deceiving.
